Tôkpêou Gbaguidi arbeitet seit 1998 als bildender Künstler. Mit Gemälden, Installationen und Skulpturen reflektiert er soziale und kulturelle Themen auf globaler Ebene.
Tôkpéou, geboren am 20. Januar 1975 in Porto Novo (Benin), machte zunächst eine Ausbildung im Bereich Grafikdesign und Informatik. Später gab er jedoch seinen Beruf als Programmierer und Grafiker auf, um seinem Wunsch nachzukommen, seine Neugier zu stillen und sein Bedürfnis zu verwirklichen, durch Kunst zu kommunizieren.
Seine Werke wurden bereits in Benin, Nigeria, Kenia, Frankreich, England, Polen, Finnland und Deutschland – seinem heutigen Wohnort – ausgestellt.
